US Dollars Worth Rs 1 Crore Seized From Passenger At Kolkata Airport

Kolkata:

The Enforcement Directorate on Monday stated it has seized US {dollars} price greater than Rs 1 crore from a traveller on the Kolkata worldwide airport.

The passenger Sangeeta Devi was initially intercepted by the Customs division on the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Worldwide Airport on September 16 after they discovered that she was carrying a considerable amount of overseas forex.

The Customs division intimated the ED and its officers recovered 1,300 forex notes of USD 100 from her, the company stated in an announcement.

“Sangeeta Devi failed to supply the supply of the overseas change (USD) present in her possession and the aim of travelling with such an enormous quantity of overseas change,” the ED stated.

“On her failure to supply any rationalization for the possession of the large overseas forex price Rs 1.03 crore, the identical was seized,” it stated.
