Officer Said 'PM's On His Way, We Thought He Was Bluffing': Farmer Leader

Bhartiya Kisan Union (Krantikari) chief Surjit Singh Phool on Thursday stated that when the Senior Superintendent of Police Ferozepur requested them to vacate the highway saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on his strategy to a rally by highway, they thought that the officer was “bluffing”.

Chatting with the reporters, Mr Phool stated, “SSP Ferozepur requested us to vacate the highway saying that the prime minister was going to the rally venue by highway. We thought he was bluffing.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s go to to Punjab’s Ferozepur was referred to as off citing main safety lapse. The PM was caught on a flyover for 15-20 minutes because of the highway being blocked by some protesters, the Ministry of Residence Affairs (MHA) stated in a press release. The MHA has taken cognisance of this critical safety lapse has sought an in depth report from the state authorities.

The BJP has blamed the ruling Congress authorities for sabotaging PM’s schedule program and for the key safety lapse.

In the meantime, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi denied the allegations of any safety breach of the Prime Minister saying that he did it have any details about the change of route of the PM.

“We had requested them (PMO) to discontinue the go to because of unhealthy climate situations and protests. We had no data of his (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) sudden route change. There was no safety lapse through the PM go to,” Mr Channi stated on Wednesday addressing a press convention.

Former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh has sought resignation from Mr Channi saying that the Punjab authorities can’t present easy passage to the Prime Minister of the nation and that too simply 10 kilometres from the Pakistan border.
