An Indian Military Colonel, his spouse and son, and 4 troopers have been killed in an ambush by terrorists close to the border with Myanmar in Manipur. The phobia assault – one of many deadliest within the area in current instances – happened at 10 am in Manipur’s Churachandpur district, sources have stated.
The Commanding Officer of 46 Assam Rifles, Colonel Viplav Tripathy, had gone to a ahead camp on Saturday and was returning when his convoy was ambushed, sources stated.
Manipur-based terrorist group Folks’s Liberation Military, or PLA, is believed to be behind the assault, although no group has claimed accountability but, sources have stated.
Intermittent firing is happening, police sources advised BoardingFlight. That is the primary time that civilians have died in an ambush on this distant space of the district. The placement is a particularly distant village round 50 km from Churachandpur.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh confirmed the dying of the Military Colonel and his household and stated a counter-operation has been launched.
Strongly condemn the cowardly assault on a convoy of 46 AR which has reportedly killed few personnel together with the CO & his household at CCpur at present. The State forces & Para navy are already on their job to trace down the militants. The perpetrators will likely be delivered to justice.

Manipur, like most of the north-eastern states, is residence to dozens of armed teams, preventing for both better autonomy or secession. For many years, the Military has been deployed to the world that has borders with China, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Bhutan.
In 2015, 20 troopers have been killed in an assault by terrorists in Manipur, after which the Military launched a surgical strike on their camp.
